The kids really enjoyed learning about force and motion this week. They got to make lots of predictions about what type of force would move an object farther. In addition, they participated in a lab with Mr. John about friction and motion. Ask your child, "What would prevent an object from staying in motion?" The week ended with toy car collisions. Ask your child what they learned from the toy car collision activity.
Also, the student love, love, love working in Book Clubs. They started a new Book Club Book with a new group this week. They really like asking questions that would get their group discussing the book. They learned the difference between asking a skinny question and a discussion director question. In addition, they were able to identify parts of the story they connected with.
The advance math students received their test back this week. They all did very well. The really understand multiplication and how it relates to division. The on level math students had to make some adjustments on their test because they really struggled with word problems and subtraction. Check Infinite Campus comments section to see if your child needed to make adjustments.
Finally, the kids loved receiving feedback from their classmates on writing. The students did an excellent job with their writing. They were able to make the characters talk, think, move, and feel. I was extremely proud. I was looking for how the students were able to use what they learned in class and apply it to their writing.
Remember that after Spring Break, students would be online Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Have an amazing and much needed Spring Break. Stay Safe!
