This week was our 2nd week of getting to know one another and navigate more using technology tools. The students navigated their way between a Microsoft Teams Meeting and playing a game of Kahoot at the same time. In addition, students were able to work in small groups for math using the small group math channel. On level math students (math 2.1) learned three different ways to show a number. Ask your child to name three different ways to show a number. The three different ways we discussed were expanded form, base ten blocks, and word form. Also, advanced math students (math 2.2) learned how to add 2-digit numbers by decomposing numbers and using expanded form. Ask your child to share both ways with you.
Students discussed rules and laws and how their ideas can turn into a law. Also, the students ended the week with an assessment on rules and laws. They are becoming more familiar with the online resources. They played a game of Kahoot and left birthday messages for a classmate on Flipgrid. The students can access Flipgrid through their Classlink accounts.
Again, the Weebly will be updated weekly over the weekend.
